Emerald Canyon Trail Work

Trail Work

Help restore and re-open the Emerald Canyon Trail

Heavy rains in 2010 forced the closure of this popular trail located in Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. OC Parks is restoring this trail with the help of Irvine Ranch Conservancy and Laguna Canyon Foundation.

Work is underway to repair and re-open the trail, and volunteers are needed to help complete the project.  This first volunteer work opportunity will focus on clearing vegetation and creating access to accommodate the installation of two trail bridges.LCF_HH_ol

No prior trail work experience needed.  All tools, water and snacks will be provided. Participants must be able to hike or bike to the work site — about 4 miles, depending on which parking area you are coming from.

Park at at Laguna Coast Wilderness Park Staging Area and just hike, run or ride to the work-site for a rewarding morning of giving back to the wilderness. Please see the map provided with your registration confirmation.
