Soaring Birds in Fremont

Interpretive
Soaring Birds in Fremont

Join us in remote and beautiful Fremont Canyon to observe the majestic hawks, vultures, and other varied bird life that frequents the canyon and nearby ridge tops. We will begin our birding adventure at the bottom of the canyon and work our way up to the top to gain sweeping views of the surrounding area. The canyon is home to a wide variety of bird life including California quail, cactus wren, white-tailed kite, phainopepla,  acorn woodpecker and many others. From our higher observation point, we will  look down on the larger birds as they soar and catch the thermals along the ridge below us. Remember to bring binoculars, sun protection, and plenty of water. This is a moderately strenuous hike with an intense elevation gain in a short distance.
