J.O.Y. for Nature: Fire Fighting Friends

Long dry summers flare up the concern for autumn wildfires here in southern California. While fire is a much needed element to help plants bloom and to keep our habitats healthy, too much fire can be a dangerous thing. Discover how Wildland Fire Fighters combat fires and help mend our native landscape. We will have a chance to see some of their fire gear up close, test our ecology skills in a healthy fire habitat test and explore the trails for evidence of previous fires on the land.
