Canyon Explorers: Blast from the Past

Let’s hop into our time machine and explore what Bommer Canyon looked like millions of years ago! Will the hills look the same or different? What creatures called this canyon home? Will the trees still be standing here? Come learn about how fossils are formed, what we can learn from them and where to find them. See fun fossils up close and make your own fossil to take home.

Please review the Difficulty Ratings on the brown banner above before registering. Understanding the 1-through-5 ratings system will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-1 activity on the land.

This program is a perfect afternoon adventure for children ages 6 – 10 years of age. We spend time exploring our program’s topic creating a craft or game before we head out on the trails to practice what we have learned. Our hike will be a gentle one-mile trek along uneven terrain. Off-road strollers for younger siblings are welcome to join the fun! Parent or guardian must register and attend along with their child.
