Stinkwort Pull at O’Neill Regional Park

Join forces with OC Parks, the Orange County Chapter of the California Native Plant Society, and Irvine Ranch Conservancy at O’Neill Regional Park to remove a stand of one of our newest invasive plants! Stinkwort (Dittrichia graveolens) is a late summer annual that invades grasslands and can spread quickly. Each plant produces thousands of seeds that are easily dispersed along trails and roads. This population – the first in Orange County – was found just last month by local plant expert Bob Allen. Volunteers are needed to help remove this invasive plant before the plant drops its seeds and spreads further. Participants should wear long shirt, sturdy shoes, sun protection, and bring water.
