Fremont/Blind/Weir Loop

Join us for a scenic hike in the Fremont and Weir Canyon Nature Preserves. This sporting loop hike is for physically fit hikers who relish the challenge of multiple steep climbs and descents. The hike is on ranch/SCE roads and offers sweeping views of Fremont Canyon and the Cleveland National Forest and passes through the beautiful oak woodlands of Weir Canyon.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-5 activity on the land.

The hike may include a visit to the Fremont Weather Station where, during strong Santa Ana wind events, winds have been recorded at up to 100 miles per hour

Bring 70 oz. minimum water and trail snacks. Please come prepared with a pack, sturdy closed toed hiking shoes or boots, sunscreen, first aid, and all other supplies to keep you safe and healthy on the trail for this hike in the wilderness area. Each person must carry his or her own pack and water and be comfortable maintaining an average moving pace of 3 miles per hour. Under-prepared participants may be denied access to this program.
