Canyon Explorers: Boney Basics

Canyon Explorers: Boney Basics

It’s good to drink plenty of milk to have strong bones to help move around and about. Check out the bones of other animals to see how they are similar to or different from our own bones. Examine an owl pellet for real animal’s bones and go on a bone dig like a real archaeologist as you learn about the boney basics!

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-1 activity on the land.

This program is a perfect afternoon adventure for children ages 6 – 10 years of age. We spend time exploring our program’s topic creating a craft or playing a game before we head out on the trails to practice what we have learned. Our hike will be a gentle one-mile trek along uneven terrain. Off-road strollers for younger siblings are welcome to join the fun! Parent or guardian must register and attend along with their child.
