Celebrate Cultures in Nature - Springtime Sensations

Discover unique historical tales about the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks as we celebrate different cultures together! Each month, a different culture and celebration will be highlighted, usually with the program presented in multiple languages which will allow for everyone to fully enjoy the beauty of the land. This month we will focus on how cultures celebrate springtime.

Things are blooming into tasty treats along the trails this season. Discover which plants are used for our native animals’ meals and which were used historically on the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks. We will have a chance to enjoy some of the “springtime salad” mixings before exploring the trails in Agua Chinon.  As we hike along the canyon, we will discuss how various cultures celebrate spring.

Food tastings will only take place during this program before the hike, as the plants along the trails are left only for the animals. Those with food allergies please be aware certain foods served may contain nuts, soy and milk.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.
