Wilderness Access Day - Black Star Canyon, Guided Walk

Join an explorative hike through the beautiful Black Star Canyon. This month on the guided walk, we will offer an exploration of nature by hiking along the Baker/SilMod Loop. Discover the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks, its history and nature along this invigorating 6-mile trek.

Review the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-3 activity on the land.

Come out and begin exploring the the Natural Landmark in your backyard!  This scenic 6-mile loop hike will involve a few steep climbs but you will be rewarded with sweeping views of the northeastern edge of the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmark.  On clear days you can even see Catalina Island and beyond Orange County into the Los Angeles Basin.  Please come prepared with closed toe hiking boots or shoes, water, trail snacks, sun screen, hat, day pack or fanny pack, and any other necessary equipment you might need to keep you safe on this hike.

After our trek, you are welcome to enjoy the trails during Wilderness Access Day – Black Star Canyon. To help speed along the registration/check-in process, you are encouraged to also register for Wilderness Access Day – Black Star Canyon.
