Long dry summers flare up the concern for autumn wildfires in southern California. While fire is a much needed element to help some plants bloom and to keep our habitats healthy, too much fire can be a dangerous thing. Discover how Wildland Fire Fighters combat fires and help mend our native landscape. We will have a chance to see some of their fire gear up close, test our ecology skills in a healthy fire habitat test and explore the trails for evidence of previous fires on the land.
Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.
