Celebrate Cultures in Nature - Día de los Muertos

Discover unique historical tales about the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks as we celebrate different cultures together! Each month, a different culture and celebration will be highlighted, usually with the program presented in multiple languages which will allow for everyone to fully enjoy the beauty of the land. This month we will focus on the Mexican celebration, Día de los Muertos.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.

Come celebrate the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks! Explore the cultural significance of this festive holiday, make artistic cempasúchil which are also known as Day of the Dead flowers to adorn our homes, and hear folklore about this celebration. Then hike through Black Star Canyon to discover the hidden creatures that call this canyon home.

Vengan a celebrar el Día de los Muertos en los monumentos naturales de Irvine Ranch! Exploraremos la importancia cultural de esta dia festivo, haremos calaveras artísticas para adornar nuestros hogares y escuchar leyendas sobre este día.
