Slow-Paced Mountain Bike Ride: Weir Canyon and Santiago Oaks

Join us in Weir Canyon Nature Preserve and Santiago Oaks Regional Park on this docent-led mountain bike ride beneath a canopy of coastal live oaks in the historic Weir Canyon area. This is a slow-paced ride designed for the intermediate rider who is in excellent cardio shape and physically fit.  The rider has experience and skills, but may need to move slowly in more technical areas with steep descents/ascents. Riders must have a minimum of one year of mountain bike experience. It is very strenuous with difficult terrain and intended  to be a “hike-a-bike” ride.

The ride begins at Irvine Park Lot 3 and travels alongside the beautiful oak woodlands of Weir Canyon Road continuing along to the “Weir Loop” in Santiago Oaks Regional Park. On the return we will ride some hilly single track trails back into Irvine Regional Park. If you are very physically fit and in excellent cardio shape, you won’t want to miss out!
