Come and hike with us to Red Rock Canyon in Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park, location of the Earthcache site — a special place people can visit to learn about unique aspects of the Earth — listed on www.geocaching.com. The cache is titled “Red Rock Canyon – Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park, GCQ0ZN.” This hike is open to existing geocachers, those curious about geocaching and non-geocachers alike. There will be as much time as needed spent at the Red Rock Canyon so all geocachers can record their data and make their observations to confidently log their visit to this cache site.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-3 activity on the land.Red Rock Canyon is a unique and spectacular geological formation in Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park. This hike will follow the Borrego Canyon trail, Mustard Road briefly then finally Red Rock Canyon trail to our destination for approximately 2 miles (4 miles in total). Total climbing elevation is around 500 feet. Please bring plenty of water, a light trail snack and all other supplies to keep you safe on the trail. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and do not forget your GPS receiver.
