Join us for an early morning entry-level fitness hike in Weir and Rifle Range Canyons. Along the trail, you’ll pass through coastal sage scrub, grasslands, and oak woodlands, home to mule deer, hawks and bobcats. The 5-mile hike is conducted at about a three miles per hour walking pace, slightly slower than a regular cardio hike, and will introduce you to the challenge of climbing multiple hills, but will allow for periodic stops along the way.
Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring a pack to carry your water and any other supplies needed to keep you safe on the trails. An adequate supply of water is a must!
Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-3 activity on the land.
