CANCELLED due to Trail Conditions: Canyon Explorers: Whooo Do You Hear?

After the sun has set, our nighttime critters come out to start their hunt for food. Owls are common in Bommer Canyon, soaring silently in flight as they hunt for small mice. Let’s explore the trails as we listen for their nightly calls, watch for their silent flight and enjoy the evening in the canyon.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.

A perfect evening adventure for children 6 – 10 years of age. We will spend time exploring our program’s topic, which varies each month, out on the trails to better connect our natural history knowledge with the surrounding canyon. Our hike is a 2 – 3 mile trek along uneven terrain, with possible hills and moderate elevation for children. This is not ideal for off-road strollers. Parent or guardian must register and attend along with their child.
