Astronomy Night: In Search of Planets

Join Orange County Astronomers for a view of the summer night sky in search of plants. Enjoy the opportunity to also look through telescopes at Jupiter, Saturn, various stars and other celestial objects. Visit the Science Heads’ Mobile Observatory. Enjoy activities in the Nix Nature Center.. No hiking involved. Come prepared with layers of clothing to keep warm, a flashlight, and a cell phone to learn about astronomy apps. You may also bring drinks and snacks. Ages 9 and up. The gate will close at 8:15 pm and open again at 10:00 pm, so plan to arrive on time and say until the end of the event. The event will be cancelled for overcast conditions. Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Little Sycamore Canyon Staging Area/Nix Nature Center (west side of Laguna Canyon Rd/SR-133, approximately 3.5 miles south of 405/ approximately 5 miles south of I-5.
