Five Ways to Explore Nature Like the Tongva

Explore nature like the Native Tongva people! Use all five senses to study native habitats in our area and discuss how the Tongva used their senses to survive. This program is designed for kids 5 – 10 years old in mind, but everyone is welcome to attend.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.

Please come prepared with a day pack, plenty of water, snacks for you and your kids, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, first aid, and all other supplies needed to keep you and your family safe and healthy on the trail in the wilderness area. Carriers are okay for the real little ones, but strollers of any kind are not recommended. The walk will be an easy 2 miles out and back in the Baker Meadow, but may include a short, steep climb to a viewpoint if the group is willing.
