Black Star Beginner Hike

Black Star Beginner Hike

Welcome to the wonderful outdoors!

Get out there and give hiking a shot by joining OC Parks Resource Specialist Gray and other budding hikers on an easy beginner walk at Black Star Canyon. We will take it slow as we hike this flat but beautiful fire road in the Santa Ana Mountains while discussing the basics of hiking and how to safely enjoy time in the outdoors. We’ll hike approximately 1.7 miles to our turn-around point, at which you can decide to continue on your own self-guided hike or return to the starting point with the group. At hike completions, Gray will share his local knowledge of nearby entry-level trails to consider exploring on your next adventure. Total hike out and back is approximately 3.4 miles. Please come prepared with sunscreen, plenty of water and closed-toe shoes.
