CANCELLED due to Trail Conditions: Map and Compass Navigation: Part 3

Continue building your topographical map and compass skills while viewing the Limestone Canyon vistas. The goal during this last of our activity series is to practice with our map and compass to identify locations, distance and terrain. We will take a two to three mile “easy” hike through Limestone Canyon, practicing along the way. This is the third in a three part series, though you are welcome to take each course separately. Please bring your own compass, or use your smartphone compass app. A few compasses are available for borrowing during the activity.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.

The Map and Compass class is designed to build knowledge and skills in three sequential activities.  The best option is to take each class in sequence. We will hike on trails in a wilderness setting, so please wear proper sun protection such as a hat or sunscreen and bring water and all items necessary to keep you safe and healthy while exploring the Landmarks.
