CANCELLED due to Trail Conditions: Stewardship at the IRC Native Seed Farm

Please join Irvine Ranch Conservancy at our Native Seed Farm. These weekly Stewardship activities take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays year round. The plants you will help us grow were selected by our ecologists to support natural diversity and ecosystem resiliency. Many also provide food and shelter for rare, native animals, like the Coastal Cactus Wren and the Quino Checkerspot Butterfly. The seeds and plants we work with will be used to restore habitats within the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks.

You will participate in a variety of activities that change with the seasons. These may include soil preparation, planting, harvesting, weed removal, and much more. Work is easy and on relatively level ground, but may require some bending, stooping, kneeling or crouching, and fine motor skills. Tools, safety equipment and training are provided. No experience is needed.

Reviewing the 1-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this Level 2 activity.
