2021 Fire Watch (Virtual) Symposium - California Wildfire Awareness Week

This year the Orange County Fire Watch program is proud to present the 2021 Fire Watch Symposium on Saturday, May 8th, during California Wildfire Awareness Week. The symposium will be virtual and hosted on three different platforms The symposium will be simulcast on Zoom, YouTube and Facebook from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Presenters from the Orange County Fire Authority, National Weather Service, OC Parks, Irvine Ranch Conservancy, and numerous other partners will provide information on the upcoming 2021 fire season, Wildfire Awareness, and program information on OC Fire Watch and Fire Watch Network. Our main presenter this year is award winning wildfire and astronomy photographer Stuart Palley. He will share his photos and experiences responding to and capturing wildfires in California.

 

The symposium this year will be delivered as a virtual event and is open to public participants interested or concerned about Wildfire Awareness in Orange County. Some Fire Watch volunteer participants will be able to attend via Zoom (If you sign up on this LGO activity you will receive the Zoom information via email). All other attendees can watch live while we simulcast on the IRNaturalLandmarks YouTube channel and IRLandmarks Facebook page.
