Poetry Round: Finding and Sharing Inspiration from the Land

Join local poet Thea Gavin for an informal Zoom chat to talk about easy ways to use writing–poetry or prose–to transform your time outdoors.

Thea will share a few simple techniques for connecting to the land, wherever you find yourself—from your own neighborhood to the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks backcountry.

If you’re wondering where to start on the journey of turning your love for nature into words, or if you’ve already written something and would like to share it, please join us for an hour of Zoom chat, followed two days later by a writing hike near the mouth of Fremont Canyon.

If you are participating in the Poetry Round, you might also like to sign up for the writing hike on May 13 to continue your experience. Use this link: https://letsgooutside.org/activities/2021/05/13/fremont-writing-hike-fremont-to-lake-view/

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-1 activity that does not take place on the land.
