Fire Ecology

Fire is a powerful force of nature we must fully understand and respect while living in Orange County. Fire is an important part of maintaining a diverse and healthy ecosystem but human interaction has brought new challenges to this balance. We’ll explore the basics of fire science, the influences of fire in our wildlands, and how fires are helpful to some of plants through a classroom presentation and a short field hike.

Program is free though there is a Park Entrance Fee per entry vehicle. Rain may cancel the program. Program will meet at the Nature Center downstairs in the conference room. For questions, please contact Resource Specialist, Kelley.Brugmann@ocparks.com at 714-973-6625.
