IRC Volunteer Only Farm Steward Workday: Native Seed Farm

Stewardship
IRC Volunteer Only Farm Steward Workday: Native Seed Farm

IRC Farm Stewards are invited to help at this all-purpose Farm workday! Our tasks each day are to be determined, but we’ll be tackling whatever jobs are a top priority. Weeding, clearing, cutting, digging, watering,– whatever it takes!

Activities may include bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, long periods of standing, reaching, pulling, grabbing, and pushing. We will be divided into two groups of 3 (Group A & Group B) and spread out into the rows at the Farm and provide plenty of space between individuals.

Just like all settings on the Landmarks, please always be aware of your surroundings. The Native Seed Farm and the surrounding canyons experienced a recent wildfire. There may be unseen and hidden dangers in the area, as well as wildlife crossing through finding refuge. Please be sure to follow all instructions provided to you from your lead during this activity and follow standard trail protocols, including remaining in areas that are designated for your use only. Do not enter structures or remains that may be unstable or areas that are flagged. Do not touch machinery or enter places that you have been instructed to refrain from entering, or areas that look like they have recently been burned. If you are unsure of something, you are encouraged to ask first. Thank you for your continued support.

Before leaving your home to report for the activity, conduct a self-assessment by responding to the questions (current as of February 4, 2021 from the CDC). Please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/testing/diagnostic-testing.html -OR- use the self-checker bot here:
