Volunteer Only Bird Point Count – Agua Chinon
Please adhere to proper trail etiquette by staying on trails.
Adhere to inclement weather (including rain, trail conditions and Red Flag Warning) policies. We will contact you if your patrol is cancelled for Fire Watch.
While conducting the point count, IRC volunteers must be in IRC uniform (with proper landowner identification/patch), including your badge(s).
This program will involve many miles of hiking with many steep climbs. Prior to departing for the program, please wear long pants & sleeves and bring sun protection. Dress in layers. A small pack is handy to carry water. Please be prepared to engage in activities that may include bending, stooping, crouching, squatting.
This is a wilderness setting and there are inherent dangers such as uneven ground, snakes, coyotes, stinging insects, and other dangers.
Please review the Difficulty Ratings before registering. Understanding the 1-through-5 rating system will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-4 activity on the land.
Before leaving your home to report for the activity, fill your water bottle and bring everything you need to be healthy. Additionally, in an effort to respect and protect all employees, volunteers, and participants, please do not sign up or attend if you are not feeling well, exhibiting any symptoms of illness or have been in recent contact with someone who was ill.
