Chino Hills State Park Volunteers will join IRC staff and volunteers on a collaborative experience on the land. Their Volunteers are interested in exploring IRC’s Volunteer Program, what roles are offered, public activities, native garden, and more! Driving tour in either safari vehicles and/or four runners.
Wednesday, April 30th beginning at the Native Seed Farm (NSF)
8:45 a.m. arrival to NSF of about 20 CHSP Volunteers
12:30 p.m. departure from NSF
Tour Logics, Native Seed Farm:
Group introductions, overview of IRC, the land, and Volunteer Program
Visit the NSF’s grounds, demonstration garden, and chat with IRC Volunteers on site
Hicks Haul Road:
Drive along this paved road that gains elevations to city views, driving along lovely CSS habitat and different landowner areas
Staging area is a primary location for large events, volunteer celebrations, central hub for different recreational experiences, a satellite nursery
We will hike about 1-2 miles along a ranch road with minimal elevation gain to visit butterfly plots and an oak restoration site in collaboration with UCI’ MCRS graduate students and Delhi Center’s teen program
Return to NSF back on Hicks Haul Road by 12:30 p.m.
