Description

Every animal leaves behind a story—a library of activity and behavior written where the ground meets the sky. In this 90-minute, hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the art of animal tracking and nature observation to uncover the hidden lives of Southern California’s wildlife.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Identify and interpret animal tracks and signs.
  • Understand animal behaviors and movements.
  • Uncover connections between wildlife and their surrounding habitats.

Join us for an inspiring journey into the mysteries of the natural world, where curiosity leads to discovery and every track tells a tale! Guided by experienced OC Parks volunteers and staff and fun for children and adults alike.

What to Expect: A short hike along Caspers Park’s Nature Loop Trail consisting of relatively flat terrain and taken at a slow pace. There will be stopping and starting as we discover new tracks. Expect to be up and about from anywhere from 60-90 minutes depending on what we uncover.

Where: We will meet at the Old Corral restroom, the day use area at the back of Caspers Wilderness Park. The walk will start off from the Nature Loop trailhead not far from the restroom.

Fees: There is a $5 parking fee on the weekends. The event itself is free.
