About The Program

If you are looking for a way to give back to the land or experience it in a different way, consider registering for a Community Volunteer activity.  These guided activities are designed to give the community a chance to have a meaningful, positive impact on wildlands in Orange County.
Opportunities to volunteer are available for all schedules and levels of interest – whether you’re looking for a few hours of giving back with your friends or family, or a more rugged adventure to remote restoration sites. Use the “Stewardship” filter on the activity page for a list of upcoming stewardship activities around Orange County and at the Native Seed Farm or see below for a preview of upcoming activities.  OC Parks also has single-day volunteering opportunities available at various regional and wilderness parks; see “Support Your Local Park” below for those programs.

OC Parks offers a variety of Short Term Volunteer opportunities that the public can participate in. These activities include single day special events as well as short-term project based work (i.e., trail restoration, facility maintenance, park clean-ups, etc.). Short Term Volunteer opportunities do not require specialized training.

The thing that I love about LGO and OC Parks is that there are SO MANY activities to choose from. You can do something new or go to a new location every day! There is literally something for everyone in OC Parks.

I enjoy seeing how excited people are to get away from the traffic, houses, and noises… I enjoy socializing with people. It’s important to have people enjoy the outdoors and see what they’d like to see.
