Canyon Explorers: Nighttime Flyers

Canyon Explorers: Nighttime Flyers

Hooting great horned owls, singing poorwills and screeching barn owls all help to fill the night with sound. While on our night hike, we will keep an ear out for our nighttime fliers’ calls and watch for their silent flight across the canyon.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.

This program is a perfect evening adventure for children 6 – 10 years of age. We will spend time exploring our program’s topic out on the trails to better connect our natural history knowledge with the surrounding canyon. Our hike is a 2 – 3 mile trek along uneven terrain, with possible hills and moderate elevation for children. This is not ideal for off-road strollers. Parent or guardian must register and attend along with their child.
