Canyon Explorers: Springtime Palette

The hills are alive with colorful orange Poppies, purple Lupines and red Indian Paintbrush flowers. After the winter storms, spring has finally sprung into a variety of color! Let’s take a stroll through the canyon to capture the springtime flare.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.

A perfect afternoon adventure for children 6 – 10 years of age. We will spend time exploring our program’s topic, which varies each month, out on the trails to better connect our natural history knowledge with the surrounding canyon. Our hike is a 2 – 3 mile trek along uneven terrain, with possible hills and moderate elevation for children. This is not ideal for off-road strollers. Parent or guardian must register and attend along with their child.
