Full Moon Distance Hike – Baker Canyon

Full Moon Distance Hike - Baker Canyon

Enjoy Baker Canyon by the light of the full moon! This strenuous 6.5-mile hike starts from the bottom of the coastal sage scrub canyon to gain great views at the peaks of the thick chaparral hill tops. Traveling up and down two canyons will offer multiple night sky viewing opportunities. Watch for summertime constellations and roaming satellites, and have fun casting shadows by the full moon’s glow. Wear sturdy shoes and warm layered clothing as the cool canyon air is chilly at night. Please bring water and a red-LED flashlight or red-tinted flashlight to use along the trails. Be ready to enjoy the night sounds and smells along this full moon hike.
