Yellow Star Thistle Pull

Stewardship
Yellow Star Thistle Pull

Yellow star thistle is California’s worst weed. Left unchecked, it covers whole fields in just a few years, pushes out other plants and protects itself from being food for animals with fierce spines. Join trained Irvine Ranch Conservancy land stewards in Gypsum Canyon on our annual “treasure” hunt for the last remaining villainous plants to be found in this population. While searching for our target plant you will have an opportunity to experience one of the least visited canyons within the Irvine Ranch Open Space. All tools and training will be provided.
