Canyon Explorers: Moon Madness

Canyon Explorers: Moon Madness

Come enjoy the trails under the dark blanket of the night sky. We will hike through Bommer Canyon, exploring how the different moon’s phases effect our surrounding environment. From the bright full moon to the waning crescent shape, our moon’s light dramatically changes our nightscape. Enjoy this evening night hike through Bommer Canyon.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.

This program is a perfect evening adventure for children 6 – 10 years of age. We will spend time exploring our program’s topic out on the trails to better connect our natural history knowledge with the surrounding canyon. Our hike is a 2 – 3 mile trek along uneven terrain, with possible hills and moderate elevation for children. This is not ideal for off-road strollers. Parent or guardian must register and attend along with their child.
