Canyon Explorers: Migrate, Hibernate or Stay Awake

As winter approaches, many animals begin their distance travels to warmer lands, fall asleep to avoid the cold, or gain a thicker coat to stay warm. Discover which animals migrate, hibernate or stay awake during our night hike through Bommer Canyon.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.

This program is a perfect evening adventure for children 6 – 10 years of age. We will spend time exploring our program’s topic out on the trails to better connect our natural history knowledge with the surrounding canyon. Our hike is a 2 – 3 mile trek along uneven terrain, with possible hills and moderate elevation for children. This is not ideal for off-road strollers. Parent or guardian must register and attend along with their child.
