Join us in Weir Canyon and Santiago Oaks on this docent-led mountain bike ride beneath a canopy of coastal live oaks in the historic Weir Canyon area. This is a slow-paced ride designed for the intermediate rider who is in excellent cardio shape and physically fit, and who has experience and skills, but sometimes needs to move slower in more technical areas with steep descents/ascents. Riders must have a minimum of one year of mountain bike experience. It is very strenuous with difficult terrain and intended to be a “hike-a-bike” ride.
The ride begins at Weir staging area near the Outdoor Education Center and travels alongside the beautiful oak woodlands of Weir Canyon Road continuing along to the “Weir Loop” in Santiago Oaks Regional Park. On the return we will ride some hilly single track trails back into Irvine Regional Park. If you are very physically fit and in excellent cardio shape, you won’t want to miss out!
