Bommer Canyon is a beautiful preserved open space that includes a type of habitat known as coastal sage scrub. This habitat is home to the endangered California Gnatcatcher and Cactus Wren as well as a number of our other favorite birds. Learn which birds are found in this environment and why it is disappearing. Join other birders as we look for birds of all types in Bommer Canyon, while paying special attention to the ones that prefer coastal sage scrub. Please wear sturdy shoes suitable for hiking, along with sun protection such as a hat and sunscreen. Bring your binoculars, or borrow ours. This program is part of the Better Birding Basics series.
