Weekend Trek: Slow-Paced Hike to Dripping Springs via Hick’s Haul and Loma

Hiking & Fitness

This slower-paced interpretive hike in Limestone Canyon is 7 miles and included some hills trekking to Dripping Springs; a fern-covered rock face dripping with life-giving water creating an essential watering hole for wildlife in the canyon.

We will hike up Hicks Haul Road and across East Loma before descending to Dripping Springs. After enjoying some time viewing the springs, we will hike back to the staging area via Limestone Canyon. Please bring water, a trail snack, sun screen, hat, and any other necessary equipment to keep you safe on the trail, and wear sturdy, closed-toe hiking shoes or boots.

Participants must be able to hike 7 miles with an elevation gain of 1300 feet at an average moving rate of 3 miles per hour. Each hiker must carry his/her own water and supplies.
