Your help is needed to search for and remove new Sahara Mustard plants that have come up from seed so that we can keep this weed from infesting the Landmarks! Sahara mustard is a nasty exotic that has invaded thousands of acres across Southern California and is just beginning to encroach upon the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks. We will be riding in a Safari Type vehicle to the location and now is the time to act!
Over the last six years volunteers like you have been successfully keeping this plant at bay at Loma Ridge within the Irvine Ranch Open Space. All training and tools will be provided. Be prepared to bend and stoop in order to remove this plant. We may have to hike to the location if the trails are a little wet from rain. Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes.
We hope you can join us!
