Journey to Black Star’s Red Rocks- Photography Hike

Interpretive

Capture the beauty of Black Star’s Red Rocks in the early morning light. Many of us have enjoyed looking at the color and geometry of this rock formation from Black Star road. However, due to the distance, the texture and detail of the rock surfaces is missing. In addition, we have missed the total picture that includes the surrounding wilderness with its trees, creek and animals.
Join us on the dirt road paralleling the rock face bottom for two miles and ends in an area hidden from the main Black Star Canyon road. Our trek is easy, with a total elevation gain of 250 feet and on a good hiking surface road. Bring your camera equipment or just yourself and enjoy this iconic rock formation. We will enjoy several viewing/photo stops at picturesque locations.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.
