Explore nature by using your five senses. Many indigenous cultures such as the Tongva rely on their senses to carry out their traditional daily life on the land. We will explore how using your senses can be helpful in a wilderness setting as we study the flora and fauna of the Landmarks. This program is designed with kids 5 – 10 years old in mind, but everyone is welcome.
Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.
Please come prepared with a day pack, plenty of water, snacks for you and your kids, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, first aid, and all other supplies needed to keep you and your family safe and healthy on the trail in the wilderness area with no facilities. Strollers of any kind are not recommended for this 2 mile walk on uneven terrain in a wilderness setting. This hike but may include a short, steep climb to a viewpoint.
