Join us for a road run in the Irvine Ranch Open Space. We’ll run on the paved Hicks Haul Road, up to a 10k (6.5 miles) distance. We’ll begin with some warm up exercises before we set off on our run. The route is up and over Loma Ridge, providing both uphill and downhill training on both the out and the back portions. The pace is up to you, but you must finish and be back to the staging area by our designated end time. Besides not having to share the road with vehicles, we’ll enjoy being surrounded by the amazing natural resources of the Landmarks and far-reaching views of the Santa Ana mountains to the north on our way out and then the pacific coastline on our return leg of the run.
Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-4 activity on the land.
This is an excellent opportunity for runners who may be preparing to run half or full marathons as well as general all around training. The route is entirely on a paved road surface, so trail specific running shoes are not required.
