CANCELLED due to Trail Conditions: Equestrian Ride in Fremont: Big, Bold, Breathtaking!

Come bring your horse and join us as we explore the vastness of Fremont Canyon. Our trail begins at the foot of the Irvine Lake Dam, where the sky is often filled with large soaring birds. You will find the sage-scented trail lined with thick chaparral and rock outcroppings. Our horses will take us up several moderate to steep climbs on this ride, but the effort will be rewarded by magnificent views of Irvine Lake. From atop high ridges, you will look down upon Fremont, Baker, and Black Star Canyons and far beyond if the day is clear. With its rugged landscape and abundance of life, you will come away from this ride with memories and an appreciation for the land.

Equestrians must have their own horse, trail riding experience, and be able to trailer their horse to the staging area. Participants will not have the option of “riding in” to the staging area. Though this ride is not long in distance, it includes rigorous steep hills and is recommended for horses in very good physical condition. Horses must be able to comfortably travel the ride as described, and be well-behaved in a group. This walking ride travels on single track trails and wide fire roads. Owners of unshod horses, please note that the footing may include areas of gravel and pavement.
