Visit (Virtually) Nature in your Backyard for Kids: Nature Scene Investigation

Virtual Nature Experience for Kids and Families

You have heard of the TV show, Crime Scene Investigation (CSI).  You are about to become an active investigator in a Nature Scene Investigation (NSI).  We will learn about the local large land carnivores (mountain lion, coyote and bobcat) then take a virtual hike.  Even though we may not see them at the scene of the investigation we might find clues that they do exist on or near our local trails.  An activity sheet will be available for download.  We will use this to hone your tracking skills.

We will use Zoom technology to bring nature to you. Please sign-up for each person that will be attending so we can have an accurate count.  You will be sent a link to join the activity via a Zoom webinar a day prior to the activity.

To prepare for the activity, we ask that you obtain the following items prior to joining us online:

-A .pdf file will be attached to your confirmation to download.

To learn more about nature in your backyard and the land the Irvine Ranch Conservancy manages, please EXPLORE the Landmarks.  To go on a virtual hike visit our IRNaturalLandmarks Channel
