Mountain Bike Clinic: Specific Focus

If you have participated in our IRC Rider and/or Terrain Skills Clinics and would like to work on some next level techniques, this is the MTB Skills Clinic for you! We’ll skip most of the introductory discussion about bikes and gear and assume you are ready for Intermediate or above skills instruction. This is a focused 2-hour clinic which will address areas that were difficult to execute during previous clinics. We also invite any Intermediate or Advanced MTB riders interested in honing these skills.

Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level 4 activity on the land. Please visit our FAQ page for answers to activity specific questions you may have prior to registering.

Specifically, we will work from the ground up to the 3/4 Pedal Wheelie Drop, and 3/4 Obstacle Climb. This comprises competence in: Momentary Track Stands, Ratcheting, Pedal Punch Wheel Lifts, 3/4 Pedal Stroke Coordination, Rear Wheel Lifts, Drop considerations and Standing Wheelie initiation. You don’t have to have mastered these skills to be our target audience.

This will be a concentrated 2-hour session. We will have a break for water and refueling. Bring supplies as appropriate.

For the safety of all participants, this activity has an age requirement of 16 years old and above.

Requirements:

-Mountain bike with wheel size of 26 inches for OG riders, 27.5 or 29 for everyone else.
