Pulling Together at Quail Hill
Invading weeds degrade habitat for birds and other wildlife. Help us keep wildlife healthy by weeding artichoke thistle from the Quail Hill loop in Irvine. This activity takes place on uneven terrain and sturdy hiking boots are highly recommended. All training, tools, and gloves will be provided to ensure your safety and comfort. Rattlesnakes are occasionally seen here and generally avoid people, but protective gear will be provided.

CANCELLED: Waterworks Trail Restoration: Fremont Canyon
Please join IRC staff and volunteers as we work to restore and maintain the land along the new Waterworks Trail in Fremont Canyon! This is a stewardship activity and duties may include removing invasive plants, watering, weeding around existing native plants that were planted earlier in the year or other similar duties. Spend the morning working under an oak woodland and/or coastal sage habitat. Any tools and equipment needed will be provided by Irvine Ranch Conservancy for the duration of the activity. Your work on the trail will help establish important habitat in Fremont for local wildlife.
If time permits, we will take an optional hike along the Waterworks Trail. The hike is a 2-mile round trip smooth and flat trail that will be taken at an easy pace.
Participants must wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and preferably wear a long-sleeved shirt and long pants. Participants must also bring their own water as well as wear sunscreen and hats.
Reviewing the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings will help you evaluate your readiness to participate in this level-2 activity on the land.

First Friday Habitat Restoration in Buck Gully

You can be part of that positive impact while enjoying the beauty of Buck Gully near Newport Beach. This activity takes place on sloped terrain and sturdy hiking boots are highly recommended. Join Irvine Ranch Conservancy staff during monthly habitat stewardship activities at Irvine Regional Park, aimed at keeping the park’s trails and habitat healthy.
