Tuesday Email: Volunteer Events & Highlights

A. Meet, Treat and Trek Volunteer Event, Wednesday, April 2

In recognition of ‘Global Volunteer Month’ in April, we are pleased to invite you to another volunteer-only special event, exclusively for both Irvine Ranch Conservancy and OC Parks Volunteers.

Spend an afternoon/evening at the ‘Meet, Treat and Trek’ self-guided hiking/biking/equestrian event in Fremont Canyon on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 4 pm – 7 pm.

Entrance to Fremont Canyon is through Irvine Regional Park and you will have free entrance to the park that evening. We will staff the vehicle gate near Lot P and there will be limited parking at the Fremont Staging Area. You may also park in Irvine Regional Park Lot P and access Fremont Canyon through the pedestrian gate and Waterworks Trail.

This is a volunteer-only event. Advance registration for yourself is required prior to the event.

Attendees may arrive anytime between the hours of 4 pm and 7 pm to gain access to the trails. (Trails and trailhead/staging area parking will close promptly at 7 pm.)

(Equestrians must park in Irvine Regional Park and ride in.)

Connector trails to Weir Canyon will also be accessible during this time — but you must be off all open space trails no later than 7 pm.

Please note that the following trails in Fremont Canyon are closed: Lakeview, State Spur, and Black Star SCE.

We will have a light snack available for you at the Fremont Staging Area.

(Volunteers do not need to wear their volunteer uniforms, but should wear their IRC or OC Park volunteer badge and be able to show it upon entry to Irvine Regional Park.)

To register, please first log into your account on the www.LetsGoOutside.org website and click on the below link:

C. Look for Annual Volunteer Renewals Coming in the next Two Weeks!

Thank you so much for your volunteerism with Irvine Ranch Conservancy. We are so appreciative of your commitment to the land that we all love so much.

We will soon begin the annual IRC Volunteer Renewal process for the upcoming volunteer year 4/1/25 – 3/31/26. You will be asked to (digitally) completed the IRC Volunteer Agreement, along with a couple other documents.

This year, most of you will also be asked to complete a bi-annual (required) background check.
