Back Country Patrol (BCP) volunteers provide an important service to the park. Volunteers hike the endless network of single track and fire road trails to have the best chance to interact with other trail users. The BCP volunteers share trail user etiquette, answer questions about the park, monitor for trail maintenance, and scope out trail details at the Park Staff’s request.
This orientation will last approximately 90 minutes with a Facility Certification review. The remaining portion of the orientation will include some group and some self-guided hiking as you become familiar with the trails at Santiago Oaks Regional Park.
Please come prepared to hike by wearing good hiking shoes, bring a hat and sun protection, plenty of water and trail snacks for yourself, and be ready to explore!
