“Poppy Patrol” at Weir Canyon in Santiago Oaks Regional Park
Weir Canyon Loop has been getting a LOT of wildflower media coverage from newspapers, online articles, Facebook, Instagram, tiktok,.. etc.. and is seeing hundreds of people by the hour due to these media sources.
Request for volunteers (Ranger Reserves and BCP) to hike through Weir Canyon (2-mile moderate trail) at least twice during the shift. Assignment includes making a presence as well as advising off trail park visitors and plant/flower collectors.
Shifts are:
7:30am – 12:00pm
11:00am – 3:30pm
Park in cul-de-sac closest to address 7091 E Avenida De Santiago, Anaheim, 92807. Take the Weir Canyon Loop trailhead to Deerweed Trail and follow the loop for the most public engagement. Please note there are NO restrooms at this location.
