Join us at Ralph B. Clark Regional Park where we will explore changes in geology, the environment, and biology that have occurred since the extinction of the dinosaurs about 66 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous Period. This walk is intended to promote a better understanding of the relative time between significant events in earth’s history, and the dramatic changes that have occurred in the last 66 million years. As we walk, we will travel through time at the rate of 12,000 years per foot, stopping at various intervals to summarize the conditions that were present in Southern California, and, to a lesser degree, some significant changes that occurred elsewhere in North America at that corresponding point in time. The ~1.1 mile leisurely walk will be on a flat, paved walkway.
Registration is required for all participants.
This program is intended for ages 12 and up. Participants age 16 and younger must be accompanied by a guardian.
